How does this work?
The first step is to fill out my Book a Quilt form. Then I will send you instructions on getting your quilt top and backing to me.
When I receive your quilt, it will enter my queue. Depending on which options you selected, we will discuss pantograph and thread choices while your quilt is waiting in line.
I will keep you updated every step of the way and when your quilt is finished I will send you an invoice. Once I receive payment, I will send your quilt back to you or coordinate a pick up.
What payment methods do you accept?
My invoices offer the option to pay using a bank payment (ACH) or by credit card. For credit card payments, I accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
What is the difference between the bamboo and cotton batting you offer?
The bamboo is thicker and has high loft which will really show off the quilting and create a warm, cozy quilt. Shrinkage will be about 2-3% after first wash. It is the batting I use for all of my quilts.
The cotton is thinner and will have low loft which will create a lighter, flatter quilt. This is great if you really want to show off your piecing and let the quilting fade into the background. Shrinkage will be about 1-5% after first wash.
Do I have to know exactly what I want before I book your services?
No! I can help you pick a pantograph and thread color. I can also choose for you if you don’t want to make the decision.
How do I know what the pantograph will look like on my quilt?
It can be hard to visualize what a 2D design will look like on a 3D object. The best way to get an idea is to look at pictures of other quilts that have used the pantograph. If I have used a pantograph before I will have pictures posted of my work. Additionally, you can try looking at the pantograph designer’s website or social media.
Can I change the size of a pantograph?
Yes! My software allows me to scale the size of a design. My preference is for medium to high density in the quilting because I like the texture it provides. Please indicate on the form if you have a preference regarding the density of the quilting.
What is the largest size top you can quilt?
I can quilt tops as large as 90″ in the shortest dimension. I do not have a limit for the longer dimension.
Do you offer trimming or binding services?
Not at this time.
Do you have any pets in your home studio?
I have a dog in my home, but she does not come in the studio. I keep my studio as clean as I can, but I cannot guarantee that it is 100% free of dog hair. If this is a concern, please let me know.
