Square Inch Pricing
I charge 3 cents per square inch for all designs.
For example, a quilt top that is 60 inches x 80 inches is 4800 square inches and at $0.03/square inch it would cost $144.
60 x 80 = 4800
4800 x .03 = $144
My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner’s square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Batting
I use and stock my favorite Winline batting in the 6 oz 100% Bamboo and the Back to Basics 100% Cotton. You may also provide your own high quality batting.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen (96″ wide) rolls of batting. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 6″ margin) and charge per inch.
6 oz 100% Bamboo: $0.58 per inch (or $20.88/yard)
Back to Basics 100% Cotton: $0.36 per inch (or $12.96/yard)
For example, if you have a 60″ x 80″ quilt, I would cut 66″ of the batting of your choice.

Thread
I stock Aurifil cotton 50 wt thread in a wide variety of colors. I don’t charge any extra fees for thread use, it’s included in the square inch price.
My personal style is to use the thread to highlight one of the accent colors on the quilt, but I understand that is not for everyone. Many people choose to blend the thread with the background fabric or the lightest color used in the quilt. This is your quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in San Jose, California, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I’d recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical) or UPS. Please indicate if you have a preference, otherwise I will select the lowest price option. Most carriers provide $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It’s a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don’t require it.
Sales Tax
A 9.375% sales tax will be added to quilting services and batting charges. Pantograph fees and shipping are not subject to sales tax.
